In implementing the action plan the following steps will be followed:
1. Committee formed to look at district and campus data (STaR Chart) and needs.
2. Superintendents will meet with Committee, then meet with Principals to see the needs of their campus.
3. Principals will meet with Department Chairs and look at the needs of each department.
4. Department Chairs will meet with Teachers to see what technology they are using or are interested in. The Long Range Plan will be looked at and the importance will be stressed.
5. Department Chairs will then report to principals of needs and level of teachers abilities.
6. Principals will then report to Superintendent, Curriculum Coordinator, Technology Coordinator of the needs of the campuses.
7. The professional development will be broken down into department needs, ex. math, science, etc. and then will be looked at along grade levels. It will be differentiated amongst curriculums, grade levels, and teacher knowledge. Teachers will be taught by using the technology. They will use the MOBI's and be using the various programs so that they will be familiar with them. They will have update trainings periodically so that they can get questions answered and see new options.
To evaluate the success, reports will be looked at from the administrators and the technology coordinator. The STaR chart will be looked at as well as teachers will be continually monitored to see how they are using technology in their classrooms. All stakeholders will be provided with reports of the uses and the progress of use. The TEKS and standards for technology will be looked at and made sure that they are being followed and guidelines will be set. Principals will be responsible to walk through and visit with teachers and students to see how the use of technology is progressing and evaluate the needs as they appear.
