Superintendent: This person will be responsible for forming a committe to help with the development of a Technology Committee. He will be responsible for helping find resources at the state and local level and ensuring that all expectations are being met. This person will serve as a liason between the Technology Committe and the School Board.
School Board: The Board will only be involved in approving the forming of the Technology Committee. They will help with district support and financial resources in the budget.
Technology Committee: This committee will be formed with the support of the
Superintendent and the School Board. This committee will include various stakeholders to review and evaluate current policies for technology use and make recommendations for potential changes to policies and improvements in schools. They will cultivate a plan to present to the School Board, Principals, and Superintendent of Schools, Superintendent of Technology and Superintendent of Instruction.
Superintendent of Technology: This person will be repsonsible to work with the Technology Committee in providing data and information to help schools move toward the Long Range Plan for Technology. They will be responsible in looking for useful technology and will be involved in the development of professional development for teachers. They will be the person that will make sure that all technology and programs are legal and safe. They will be working directly with principals, curriculum and teachers to discuss the needs of each campus. They will be the one that will look at data from such places as the STaR chart and DMAC.
Superintendent of Instruction and Curriculum: This person will be responsible for tying it all together. They will work directly with the Superintendent of Technology and Principals to discuss the needs of each campus. They will also look at the curriculum of each campus and see where and when each campus can integrate more into their plan. They will also work with teachers to help them corporate technology into their classroom.
Principal: This person will be one of the most important people in the whole process. The Principal will not only have to model the use of the technology, but will also have to show buy-in and importance of the whole plan. The Principal will have to work with each of these positions to show how the school is doing, show what their campus needs are and how they are planning to move toward the goals at a district, state and national level. The Principal will have to be learned and be up to date with the technology.
Teachers: Teachers will not only have to be informed of the plan, but will also need to know the reason behind the plan. They need to know where the school and our students are moving towards. They will have to be flexible and open to technology. Teachers will have to be willing to learn a brand new trade and skill working with technology and need to realize what is best for our students. Teachers will be able to use programs such as TenMarks.com, Brainchild, Rosetta Stone, Mathtutor, YouTube, Greenglobs, and various others to help students explore and reach their potential
